Liverpool’s biggest festival, Sound City, have announced an all-star panel for their Sound City + workshops. The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight looks forward with bated breath.

That time of year is fast approaching, where Liverpool’s docklands are transformed into a hedonistic paradise for music lovers across the entirety of the North-West. The tenth anniversary of Sound City is set to take place between May 25-28th with a line-up that blows previous years out of the water. The ‘+’ event is timetabled for May 26th at Camp and Furnace.

The team behind the festival have also been working hard to bring some top quality panellists to their Sound City + event, a day of workshops and conversation that sees legends from across the musical spectrum getting stuck into some topical conversation about the music industry and whatever else may spring to mind.

This year’s ‘+’ features some very influential heads from all four corners of the globe. The panellists include The Guv’nor himself, Andy Weatherall, Hacienda DJ ledge Dave Haslam, reggae icon Don Letts, electro‘s first lady, Peaches, who is set to perform at the festival, Dudley, Jeczalik & Langan from Art of Noise, grime aficionado Hattie Collins, bass-extraordinaire Jah Wobble, cultural historian and all-round musical brainbox Dr. Jen Otter Bickerdike, NME photographer Kevin Cummins, and international music photographer Tom Oxley.

We’re sure these guys are going to have plenty of VERY interesting points to put across, and The Waveform Transmitter is looking forward to this with great enthusiasm.

Tickets for Sound City are available from Ticketmaster, here.
