Roy Davis Jr. to Headline Melodic Distraction 2nd Birthday

Melodic Distraction are set to bring Roy Davis Jr to Liverpool for their second birthday celebrations. The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight looks forward to the event with baited breath.Melodic Distraction have certainly pulled no punches for their second birthday as they bring Chicago house pioneer Roy Davis Jr to Liverpool for the first time in approximately ten years.

A legend of Chicago’s house scene, Davis Jr needs little in terms of introduction. With a career spanning almost 30 years and a raft of critically acclaimed releases under his belt, the Chicagoan DJ and producer is a booking that the team at Melodic Distraction would have had difficulty surpassing. Their second birthday celebrations are set to take place at Constellations on March 24th.

Aside from a solo career that covers the whole gamut of electronic music, from techno to disco, via funk and soul, Roy has had a hand in some of electronic music’s most influential acts. For six years he was an integral part of Lothario Lee and DJ Pierre‘s Phuture collective and worked on the project alongside Ron Maney AKA DJ Skull.

Roy Davis Jr is joined by MD rezzies Nathan Bailey, Nick Wood, and Luke Bartlett. Australian DJ and producer, Jaxon Lamond, makes the trip from the opposite side of the planet just to play for you, so make the effort and get yourself down there for a good dance.

Tickets are available now from Skiddle, here. Get in there quick, though, these will sell out fast.
