Solomun to Head to Liverpool for Freeze x Underground Party (plus win tickets)

Solomun, house music’s man of the hour is heading down to Freeze in June. The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight looks forward to what promises to be a killer night.

Solomun is a name that is synonymous with premium quality house music, regardless of whether you are talking about his recorded material or his DJ performances.

Taking in his Boiler Room sets has been a joy, as has listening to Solomun‘s mixes – his Global Underground mix from 2014 still receives plenty of speaker time at Waveform Transmitter HQ.

It can certainly be said, of Solomun, that his rise to the top of the pile has been nothing short of meteoric. The manner in which he tesselates tracks together perfectly in his DJ sets is awe-inspiring and he isn’t scared of throwing the odd curveball in there either. His career has been peppered with accolades, including Mixmag‘s DJ of the Year award in 2012 – not bad for a DJ who had only started out that year, right?!

Not content with just producing and DJing, Solomun also runs two very successful house labels that operate on the cutting edge of the sound. DIYnamic and 2DIY4 both feature quality acts, as well as acting as a platform through which Solomun can release his own productions.

June will see the German house maestro heading across from Hamburg to play one of his inimitable DJ sets at Underground for one of Liverpool’s most popular dance nights, Freeze. Tickets are available from Skiddle, here. In the meantime, check out this epic

We’ve teamed up with Underground to offer one lucky reader a pair of tickets for the event. The process is simple. FOLLOW The Waveform Transmitter on Facebook, SHARE the post below, TAG a mate you’d like to take along. Easy!

In the meantime, check out this epic BBC Essential Mix by the man himself.
