Iconic club night, I Love Acid, are ten years old this year and they’re celebrating with a special edition compilation release. The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight looks forward to the acid influx.
I Love Acid have, for ten years, cemented their position at the zenith point of the electronic music scene. The acid aficionados have been pulverising speakers for a decade this year and The Waveform Transmitter are pleased to announce they are showing no sign of letting up.
For those among us who love to be smothered in that legendary sound that emanates from Roland‘s little silver box, the news that the brand plan to release a 10-year anniversary USB containing tracks from some of the genre’s greatest artists will be acid to their ears.
The USB itself is moulded into the shape of the ubiquitous 303 synth module and features 20 tracks from a host of top names on the scene. The tracklist is as follows:
01. Neville Watson – Sweatbox
02. Posthuman – Brand Loyalty
03. Mike Dunn – No Chaser
04. XXXY – Blup Blup
05. TB Arthur – TB1 B1
06. Mystic Bill – Revenge Of The Preacherman
07. Cardopusher – Out On A Limb
08. Hardfloor – 36 Chambers Of Kikumoto
09. dyLab – Let Us Rise
10. Kerrie – Eerie Acid
11. Jared Wilson – Tracking
12. Hannah Holland – Tweak feat. Josh Caffe
13. B12 – Wobble Boarding
14. Mark Forshaw – He’s Not There
15. Jozef K & Wintersun – Hyggeacid
16. John Heckle – Days Of Atlantis
17. Chevron – CYPUPB~B
18. Luke Vibert – Jeepers H Christ
19. Transparent Sound – Dancing Eyelids
20. Pye Corner Audio – Dead Ends
It is nice to see Merseyside represented on the compilation by way of the inclusion of tracks by Mark Forshaw and John Heckle (like we said; top names). Safe to say, we cannot WAIT to get our grubby little mitts on our copy. It remains to be seen whether or not the album will be available as a CD or vinyl copy. We’ll keep you posted on that one.
Not content with filling our ears with glorious recorded audio, the lovely crew at I Love Acid are celebrating their 10th birthday with a night of acid indulgence at Hidden in Manchester on April 1st. The line-up features Luke Vibert, Ceephax Acid Crew, Dixon Basement Avenue Jams, Jerome Hill, Jon Dasilva, Posthuman, Timothy ‘Hectic’ Clerkin and Medallion Man.
Tickets for the night are available at Skiddle, here.
