mUmU Announces 2017 Summer Programme

Liverpool underground techno night, mUmU have announced a triple header of events for the coming summer months. The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight has the details.

Anyone on the underground scene in Liverpool should know exactly who mUmU are. They’ve cemented themselves as one of Liverpool’s top club nights, and their latest announcement is testament to the fact that they continue bringing some of techno’s biggest names to the city.

The promotion team have announced three shows set to take place over the summer months and, with some of the cream of the scene’s underground talent on the roster, they don’t seem to put a step out of line.

First off, April 16th sees Lee Rands following up his extended set at the mUmU 9th Birthday with a special all-nighter at North Shore TroubadourLee‘s ability to play in-depth, varied sets is second-to-none, so expect great things from the mUmU resident as he mans the decks for the entirety of the evening.

May Bank Holiday, 28th, at New Bird Street Warehouse, brings Rødhåd back to the city. His last gig here was for Mixmag Live, where he blew the roof off what is now Hangar34. This really is invasion of the redheads, as playing alongside Rødhåd is Serbian DJ Tijana TLee Rands is in support. Perhaps we can convince him to go copper for the night. Lee, thoughts?

Sunday, August 27th sees none other than Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann heading to The Great Baltic Warehouse where he will presumably be throwing down the kind of set that demonstrates exactly why he’s one of techno’s foremost proponents.

Marcel will be joined by Answer Code Request, the German techno producer who has been rising astronomically to the top of his game since 2011. Lee Rands will also be in support, presumably by which point his hair will have returned to its natural colour.

Hair jokes aside, mUmU have gone all out to bring an exciting summer calendar to the city, so grab your tickets while you can, these will fly.
