Passionate about electronic music? Like to talk about it? Go clubbing? Then The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight wants to hear from you!
Hello everyone. Ste Knight here, editor of The Waveform Transmitter. Something a little bit different than our usual articles. This one is more of an open invitation.
Since we started out back in January, we have really started growing in terms of what we are doing, how much we cover, who we cover, and where we are covering. Currently, we are based in Liverpool, with a team of six writers (including myself) and one photographer. As we are non-profit, travelling further afield than Manchester can be tough for us. This is where you come in.
If you are passionate about the underground electronic music scene (not just talking techno here – bassline, dubstep, electronica, IDM, jungle – anything goes), and you would like to be involved in writing for an exciting, up-and-coming website with tonnes of interesting projects in the pipeline, then we want to hear from you.
We want writers and club photographers in major cities across the UK. We want people in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Belfast, Dublin, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds; anywhere that has an underground scene that you want to be more involved in and support, by promoting their nights and the artists involved.
If you want the opportunity to review nights in your area, preview awesome music before it is released, interview exciting new and established artists, go to festivals and review them, and generally have a blast doing something great for the underground scene, then you’re the perfect candidate.
It is important to stress, we are all volunteers, which means we are rewarded by seeing our passion grow, and helping the community we are a part of. We can generally arrange entry to club nights and festivals, which of course costs you nothing.
We’re a great little team, but we want to be a great BIG team. We’re a family here, and we all get on like the proverbial house ablaze.
If this is something that you think might interest you, or might interest a friend you know has a flair for the written word, then get in touch. If you think you’ve got what it takes to be part of something fresh, send a 100 word article reviewing your favourite piece of electronic music to IWantToTransmit@thewaveformtransmitter.com, and we’ll be in touch.
