Electro whizz I-F hits High Hoops, alongside Black Eyes, this month. The Waveform Transmitter’s Max Carton looks forward to an eclectic evening.
Comprehensive party starters High Hoops had a fantastic 2017, and it’s only looking up for the Manchester based curators. They are bringing the ultimate eclectic selector I-F and easy-going Black Eyes to The White Hotel at the end of the month. From DJ Stingray to Honey Dijon, High Hoops are consistently inviting unforgettable acts to the city with Young Marco and a collaboration with Discwoman upcoming.
Hailing from The Hague, Holland, Ferenc E. van der Sluijs is a man who needs little introduction. Better known as I-F (Interr-Ference), amongst countless other alias’, van der Sluijs is the man behind Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass. The analog sound sweeps between electro and techno, I-F’s productions are sure fire classics in their own right, with his productions still firmly in the bag of the world’s most renowned spinners.
I-F has devoted his entire life to unearthing the most obscure records he can find. Starting with pirate radio, to the inception of CBS (Cybernetic Broadcasting System), Ferenc can now be heard spinning everything from italo-disco to raw , unadulterated electro across the globe. With no two sets ever the same, we are excited to embark on a musical journey from the mind of the Dutch digger.
Black Eyes, formerly known as Black, has booked a sweeping selection of artists such as Alexander Robotnik and John Heckle. “Forged in the flames of acid house,” Black Eyes will lend himself nicely to I-F’s diverse selection. His monthly show ‘Lost Control’ on NTS Radio, in addition to the relentless event calendar has cemented himself in the city’s scene.
Supporting the night will be High Hoops DJs, who recently warmed the infamous Warehouse Project decks up before Or:la on New Years Day as well as adding their signature sound to each event they curate. Their monthly show ‘Lost Control’ on NTS Radio, in addition to their relentless event calendar has cemented themselves in the scene.
