Junglist, Fracture, has been invited to rinse it at That Thing this month. The Waveform Transmitter‘s Andy Weights looks forward to some proper chestplate rattlers.
If you’re a fan of drum ‘n’ bass and jungle then on January 26th That thing will be hosting a night long display of ghetto house, juke and jungle styles at DROP the Dumbulls.
Featuring headliner Fracture, you won’t get a better chance to party with this international artist whose stock continues to rise. If he isn’t in the kitchen you will find him running his own Astrophonica label and releasing on pioneering British dance music labels such as Metalheadz and Exit Records. His music is hard to categorize from stripped back rhythmic workouts to sweaty dancehall riddims via emotive compositions and catchy sample flips, Fracture’s music has a little of everything.
The evening will be a rare opportunity to get up close and sweaty with an eclectic range of DJs in a fantastic small venue that continues to bring unique nights and the best underground artists to Liverpool. DROP the Dumbulls is a 140-year-old creative gallery space for the open minded, to see it is to believe it! Expect incredible scenery and a solid sound system with noises that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
The night will be packed with supporting talent like: MISOGYFIST who is making her Liverpool debut and will be hitting us with wall to wall juke bangers. Also landing for the first time in Liverpool, with the finest sounds that come in at 160 bpm is DJ K Means. Alongside residents Wocky bringing heavy weight, ghetto house tracks and Jungoltrane who’s Chicago footwork and old school jungle style will certainly loosen those arms and legs.
There are no advance ticket sales. It’s 7 quid in. Capacity is limited to 100 so mosey on down early to avoid disappointment.
