Mix: Waveform 033 – Junior Jack

One for the househeads here as Junior Jack delivers our latest Waveform Mix, following the recent release of the remixed E Samba on the excellent Kittball Records. The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight presents.

November 2nd saw the mighty Kittball Records dropping a rather sumptuous double header, courtesy of Josh Butler and Kellerkind, who have remixed Junior Jack and Tube & Berger‘s E Samba, which was a dancefloor filler across Europe’s nightclubs during the summer months. The original was released back in 2003 and was a certified house banger back then. 15 years later, Junior Jack and Tube & Berger teamed up to reinvigorate the track for 2018’s discerning listeners. Now the production has undergone a further overhaul, as Josh Butler and Kellerkind serve up their interpretations of the classic.

Josh Butler is no stranger to the house scene. He has seen releases on tastemaker labels such as DefectedNoir, and Cajual, to name but a few, and his remix here pumps the Junior Jack and Tube & Berger reissue with a healthy dose of darkened house vibes that delivers two breakdowns of epic proportions.

Kellerkind offers up a totally different take on proceedings, as his remix follows a distinctly hypnotic oeuvre, which includes some imposing percussion courtesy of the militaristic drums that fire off like cannons throughout the mix.

The twin effort enjoys a full release on Kittball on November 16th, but for now you can check it out on Spotify or buy the release over on Beatport (buy link).

Junior Jack has been kind enough to record us a fantastic contribution to our Waveform Mix Series. Fans of the house sound will revel in this one as Junior delivers an hour of tracks cherry-picked from across the genre’s broad range of sound. This should come as no surprise to you, as Junior Jack has been DJing and producing for over 20 years now.

The Belgian producer saw UK chart success with the release of his E Samba single, back in 2003, and re-entered in 2006 with Dare Me (Stupidisco), taking the number 20 spot and his highest in the UK charts. This wealth of knowledge and experience means that Junior Jack is consistently on point in terms of his track selection, so there’s no track list for you this time; just let the music do the talking. Check out his Waveform 033, below.
