If you are planning on jetsetting a bit further afield for your festival vibes this year, then Jamaica Frenzy sounds like just the ticket. The Waveform Transmitter‘s Simon Huxtable takes a look at the house music paradise.
Do you ever imagine jetting away to sunny Jamaica for a week-long festival featuring the cream of New York’s celebrated house scene? Well, dream no more! In late March, Jamaica Frenzy – an exciting new festival project by DJ, Lil Ray – launches amid a flurry of praise and adulation.
Built around a 6-day all-inclusive festival package, clubbers will experience a melting pot of styles and DJs from the world beats of Joe Claussell to the pounding grooves of David Morales and the turntable wizardry of DJ Spen. Best of all, it all happens in the idyllic resort of Negril. It’s almost impossible to put into words the natural beauty of the Jamaican location.
From the translucent turquoise blue of the sea, the 7 miles of powder-white sandy beach and the lush tropical foliage, it’s quite possibly the most perfect setting to dance under the stars you could ever imagine. At the pool and beach parties, you’ll mingle with an international glitterati or choose instead to take excursions to explore the natural beauty of the island. There will obviously be the opportunity to lounge seductively on board a catamaran as your favourite DJ spins a heady cocktail of blissful beats to soundtrack your day.
“Jamaica Frenzy‘s vision is to create a clubbers paradise by bringing some of best DJ talent we know to a luxurious resort in the exotic setting of Jamaica.” Said festival creator, DJ liL Ray, “We want to create a 5-star feel-good festival experience and Negril has it all! We’re so excited by the great response we’ve received from everybody so far – March can’t come soon enough!”
“Jamaica Frenzy is destined to be the creme of the crop of dance festivals across the globe. An experience for the people, at a time when it’s most needed!” – DJ Spinna
“Jamaica Frenzy… Finally, a breath of fresh air with a festival lineup that’s giving soulful house music the place it deserves, and which so many people have been waiting for” – Francois K
The prices per person start from $1,899.00. Tickets include all-inclusive accommodation, gourmet dining and premium cocktails, airport transfer, admission and round trip transportation to all parties. You can also choose from two luxurious all-inclusive accommodation resorts for the festival: the family-friendly Royalton Spa & Resort and the liberating ‘clothing optional’ resort of Hedonism II.
