The second mix in our International Women’s Day mini-series comes from Dutch producer, Odette. The Waveform Transmitter‘s Ste Knight presents her awesome experimental house mix, featuring several of her new productions. Ya dig?
You’ll remember that a couple of weeks back we reviewed Odette‘s new EP, Love Story, which is out now via Still Play Records. The package features three minimal house tracks which are ripe for the dancefloor. Plenty agree with us, as the release entered the deejay.de chart at number 8, and has been steadily climbing since. Deservedly so – the Dutch producer has been prolific in her productions to say the least so it is great to see her succeeding, having followed her since the release of her first single.
Her contribution to our mix series comes as a very welcome addition. The mix follows Odette‘s typically experimental productions style, which translates perfectly to the decks as we are treated to an hour long journey, the terrain of which features several of Odette‘s own productions. A brilliant mix as per from the Dutch dynamo, and one that can be seen as an inspiration to any aspiring female producers. Odette works hard at her craft, and it shows – get this one on loud.
We asked Odette why International Women’s Day is important to her. Here’s her soundbite…
I feel that women DJ’s and producers are getting more ground these days on the electronic music scene. That makes me happy since there is so much talent out there and it all deserves to be heard. I love to be a woman and actually don’t need a day to celebrate.. Love yourself and your sisters daily!
