As we rush headlong into the first month of 2020, The Waveform Transmitter‘s Ste Knight offers a look at the best raves on offer to take your mind off the January blues.

Happy New Year, readers! With a new decade upon us, we’re introducing a few new little bits and bobs here at the Waveform Transmitter, including a round up of the best events that have been announced for the forthcoming months.

January is a notoriously quiet time for everyone. The gluttony of Christmas always ensures that our minds, bodies, and wallets are a bit on the tired side. However, the rave stops for no one, so let us take a look (in no particular order) at what lies ahead for you to dance the belly off to.

I ♥ Acid, 24 Kitchen Street, Liverpool

If acid is your bag, head down to Kitchen Street where the I ♥ Acid crew will be bringing the party on Friday January 24th. Bottom Heavy Vol XI, Dalston Superstore, London

The ever-busy Wes Baggaley returns to Dalston Superstore with a night of queer ear-gear on Saturday January 11th. The eleventh excursion of the popular Bottom Heavy LGBTQ party will see Wes going in deep with Dan Beaumont all night long in room one, with the second room overseen by Jill BrookMwen, and ARUN.

Playtime: A Fundraiser For Wood Street Mission, Stage and Radio, Manchester

There’s nowt quite like getting your dancing pants set alight with a great cause in mind and Sticky Heat are hosting the Playtime party in aid of the Wood Street Mission on Friday, January 17th; a fantastic charity that helps vulnerable children in poverty. You can buy advance tickets to the event, but organisers ask that you bring donation items to help the most at-risk in our society. Some of Manchester’s best promoters are involved…you need to be too.

Subliminal Sounds, 24 Kitchen Street, Liverpool

Your mid-week rinse-out is taken care of by Kaiju and Outhouse Sounds, as they reserve Tuesday 21st January for their Subliminal Sounds party. Drum and bass is the order of the day, with hot duo Technimatic and DRS taking the reins. Veteran DJ and producer Peshay will also be delivering the goods, with Blocks & Escher and ED:IT rolling hard in support.

Das Booty, MOT Unit 18, SE London

Heading ‘down south’ for our final recommendation. Das Booty make a return, power-sliding into Venue MOT Unit 18 on January 25th with a big fuck-off line-up to get your juices well and truly gushing. The roster boasts appearances from the inimitable Warlock, alongside DexorcistMark ‘Turbo’ TurnerUKAEAJunglis’ Monk, and our mate Osc Kins.
