Liverpool Disco Festival, the city’s newest mass musical gathering, announces their first wave of acts, and it is a belter. The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight has the latest.

The Baltic Triangle’s biggest disco gathering, Liverpool Disco Festival – the combined brainchild of the creative bods behind Hustle, Suncébeat, and Southport Weekender – has set the wheels in motion for 2017’s festival, set to take place on May 6th.

This morning they have released the first wave of acts for a stupefyingly excellent line-up. Take a seat for this because it is hella big. The event is a celebration of 30 years of the Southport Weekender, so it makes sense that they’d drop a whopping line-up.

Live acts are set to include disco goliaths D-Train, who wrote famously reached No.1 in the US chart and No.13 in the UK chart with ‘You’re the One for Me’, and Ultra Naté, who is perhaps most famous for her disco-house hybrid track ‘Free’.

A slew of DJs is also set to appear. The full list so far is:

Tony Humphries, Joey Negro, Jellybean Benitez, Danny Krivit, John Morales, Nicky Siano, Mr Scruff, DJ Spen, Karizma, Ultra Naté, Rahaan, Lenny Fontana, Graeme Park, Jamie 3:26, Red Greg, Mark Seven, Get Down Edits, Neil Pierce, Craig Smith, Ronnie Herel, Terry Jones, Bigger, Andy Davies, Paul ‘Bozak’ Morrissey, Davide Fiorese, Mark Stone, Paul Stuart, Natasha Kitty Katt, The Queen and Disco, No Fakin’ DJs, Groovement Soul, and last but not least Ghetto Child DJs.

Whew! If you haven’t fallen off your chair then hats off to you. We urge you to act quickly on this one, as tickets are selling VERY fast. Tickets can be purchased from Skiddle.
