Prolific Dutch producer, Odette, returns with her latest EP on Bauns Music. The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight likes what he hears.
You should know who Odette is by now. If you don’t, The Waveform Transmitter would like to know why, exactly. The producer, who’s name means “abundance”, certainly lives up to her moniker, as she is having her tracks signed left, right, and centre, and she produces consistently.
We dropped a preview last month of her excellent Little Blessed Bug EP which was released on Tip-Tap Records and now she’s back with three stunning house cuts to get your juices flowing.
Everywhere EP has been released on Bauns Music, an Italian label run by Gianni Pellecchia. The label focuses on the more experimental side of house, which suits Odette‘s style of fidgetty, funky, minimal house music perfectly.
The Everywhere EP kicks off with a funky-ass house jam, You Are, the bassline to which is all killer groove. The track swings to and fro to full effect, while Odette‘s signature snaps and pops chatter away to give the track it’s house stylings.
ToolFool is up next, and continues the funky theme, while adding little techno nuances and the heavily effected vocal snippets that Odette is fond of using from time to time. Innerzone Orchestra style old-school house flavas run throughout the track’s percussive breaks. “You like my tool, You like my fool?” I’ll say!
Final track on the EP, Everywhere, is a slightly darker affair. Perfect for dimly lit basement parties and sweating it out on the dancefloor with heads down and fists pumping.
