Liverpool’s favourite purveyors of all things leftfield, Upitup, celebrate 14 years with a mega-event at The Magnet, Liverpool. Here’s The Waveform Transmitter’s Ste Knight with the details.

Upitup is, somewhat alarmingly in ‘where the fuck did the time go’ terms, now in its 14th year. The label-cum-events brand has been smashing out killer releases (for free) and putting on some tremendously forward-thinking parties for ages now, and there seems no better way to celebrate than to have a good old-fashioned knees-up.

So, they’re doing exactly that! To celebrate 14 years of releases and 10 whopping years in Liverpool, the crew have put together a killer line-up to play ‘where it all began’, at The Magnet on April 21st.

The night kicks off at 11 pm, and is spread over two rooms for maximum Malchance-ified mayhem. Playing all the way through until 6 am, we have Akasa, Asok, Bantom Lions, Big Effigy, Buddha, Captain Johnson, Cold Blooded DJs, Doughnut Burger, EA Moon, Fave Muslim, Germanager, Isocore, Jacques Malchance, Ling b2b Kepla, Lo-Five, M62 Records, Mark Forshaw, Nina Keh, Phullopium Dude, Reedale Rise, Simon Jones, and UM.

There’ll be everything from bassline ting, ambient chillflex, and a good techno pummelling. If that isn’t enough to get your juices flowing then clearly you don’t know what you’re on about. So shutupitup.

Tickets are available from Skiddle and Resident Advisor.

Jacques will also be playing in the Kazimier Garden on Saturday March 18th. He’s going to be dropping a special UpitUp only set. Bring your dancing wellies because it’ll get well bouncy.
